WegoOne Ltd — Privacy Policy

Operator: WegoOne LtdContact: info@we-goone.comWebsite: we-goone.com
Publication note: Before publishing this policy as the live legal notice, WegoOne should verify the descriptions against the current apps, backend, integrated SDKs, data-retention practices and applicable legal requirements. The account deletion page and its request workflow must also be tested and monitored.

1. Introduction

Wego is a ride-hailing platform connecting passengers with drivers. This Privacy Policy explains how Wego handles personal information in the passenger and driver apps, including registration, ride matching, location, driver verification, passenger-driver communications, payment processing, notifications and diagnostics.

2. Information Wego handles

Account and phone verification

Wego processes the phone number and account identifiers used for registration, phone verification and account management. Name, email address and other profile details are included only where collected.

Location and trip information

Wego uses precise location, pickup and destination points, route/trip location and trip status to support ride matching, pickups and trip progress. The driver app may access location in the background while a trip is active. This use must be limited to the enabled trip feature and follow Android permission and disclosure requirements.

Driver verification documents

Wego may process driver ID or licence information and uploaded document images for identity, eligibility, safety and account verification. Retention and access should be limited to the operational and legal need.

Passenger-driver communications

Wego provides passenger-driver chat or calls. The data processed depends on the technical implementation. This policy does not claim that calls are recorded. If chat messages or call metadata are stored or transmitted, that handling should be described accurately in the final published policy.

Ride, payment and transaction information

Wego processes ride requests, bookings, trip history, pickup/destination details, fares, payment status, transaction references and support records. Bank card and mobile money details are handled by Wego's payment provider; Wego receives transaction status and references. This assumes Wego does not separately collect or store full card numbers or card security codes.

Device, diagnostics and notifications

Wego may process crash reports, diagnostic or analytics data, app/device technical information, and push-notification tokens or identifiers where collected by the app or integrated services.

3. How information is used

  • Register, authenticate and secure passenger and driver accounts, including phone verification.
  • Match passengers and drivers, coordinate pickups and provide trip progress.
  • Use location for ride functionality, including driver background location during an active trip where enabled.
  • Verify driver identity and eligibility and help protect users and the platform.
  • Enable passenger-driver communications and send booking updates and notifications.
  • Facilitate payment processing and reconcile transaction status.
  • Diagnose crashes, troubleshoot reliability, and improve the service where analytics or diagnostics are enabled.
  • Prevent fraud and misuse, respond to safety incidents, provide support and comply with legal obligations.

4. How information is shared

Wego may share relevant trip details with the passenger or driver involved in a ride. It may use payment, hosting/database, mapping/location, phone-verification, notification, communications, and crash/analytics providers to operate the service. Wego may disclose information to authorities where required by applicable law or valid legal process, or where necessary to address serious safety, fraud or security concerns. Actual sharing and SDK practices should be confirmed before publication.

5. Security and retention

Wego applies appropriate technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. Specific safeguards such as encryption, access controls and backups should only be claimed where implemented and verified. Wego retains information as reasonably necessary to operate the service, support disputes and safety, and meet legal obligations. Retention varies by data type; information no longer needed should be deleted or anonymised subject to lawful retention requirements.

6. Account deletion and data requests

Users can initiate account deletion from within the Wego app or submit a request through the account deletion page. The public account deletion page is designed to verify the account holder and pass a confirmed deletion request to the Wego app backend. The backend must verify identity and carry out deletion across applicable systems before the request can be described as completed. If the deletion service is unavailable, contact info@we-goone.com.

Wego may verify a request to protect account security. We will delete data that we are not required or permitted to retain. Some records may be retained where required by law or for specified safety, fraud-prevention, payment-dispute or regulatory purposes. The deletion page and backend integration must be configured, published, monitored, and tested end to end before Wego is submitted to Google Play. The public website hosting does not itself grant access to the app database.

7. Children's privacy and eligibility

Wego is intended for users who meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements for transportation services in their jurisdiction and is not designed as a children's service. The operator must set and enforce actual eligibility rules.

8. Privacy requests and contact
